Launched in 2006, Lemar TV has won over the hearts and minds of its viewers in record time. The channel dominates the Pashtun provinces in the south and south-east of Afghanistan with its primarily general entertainment, news and current affairs shows. All content is produced locally or acquired globally, and transmitted in Pashto.
Over the past ten years, Lemar TV has claimed the number 1 position for a Pashto channel and become the 4th most popular television channel overall. In 2010, the channel had a breakthrough with the huge success of its locally produced Pashto drama series called “Salam”.
