LEMAR, meaning ‘sun’ in Pashto, was launched in 2006, the first station in Afghanistan to devote itself purely to Pashto language programming. Its mix of entertainment, news and current affairs are widely respected for their apolitical tenor and true resonance with the Pashtun audiences.

LEMAR’s dubbed content include ‘Don’t Worry Hojayega’ [Indian Comedy/Drama) and ‘Another Chance’ [Turkish Drama] as well as a host of homegrown programs such as news, music show ‘Sandareez Amel’, and Salaam, an engaging 12 part drama produced by Kaboora Production, now in its second season.

LEMAR revealed its new brand identity in Eid 2011, a celebration of the rich diversity and the elements unique to Pashtun culture.

LEMAR is available on terrestrial across Afghanistan and on satellite across the region including Pakistan, Iran and the UAE.
